GRADUATE WOMEN INTERNATIONAL TO HOST MILESTONE 35TH TRIENNIAL GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND CONFERENCE IN LUSAKA, ZAMBIA, 11-13 SEPTEMBER 2025

Geneva, Switzerland, 25 January 2025– Graduate Women International (GWI) is excited to announce that its 35th Triennial General Assembly and Conference will take place in Lusaka, Zambia, from 11-13 September 2025. This milestone event marks GWI’s 106-year commitment to advancing women and girls worldwide through education.

“This conference is a meaningful occasion to reflect on GWI’s journey and the global impact of our work,” says Patrice Wellesley-Cole, GWI President. “It is an opportunity to engage with members, share ideas, and explore how education can continue to drive equality and sustainable development. We are deeply grateful to our Zambian sisters for graciously hosting this event,” she adds.

This event provides a unique opportunity for GWI members and distinguished speakers from around the world to convene for meaningful dialogue, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. Delegates will discuss progress, explore challenges, and set future goals, with a particular focus on innovative policies and actions that advance the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4: Quality Education. Participants will leave the conference informed, inspired, and ready to engage in long-term policy dialogue surrounding education and its important to equality and progress.

As the vibrant capital of Zambia, Lusaka offers a dynamic and culturally rich setting for this global gathering. While there, delegates can also experience Zambia’s extraordinary attractions, including:

  • Victoria Falls: Locally known as “Mosi-oa-Tunya” or “The Smoke That Thunders,” this United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site is one of the world’s largest and most breathtaking waterfalls.
