We will be discussing The Gambler (Arpa Editores, 2025, 208 pages) by Fyodor Dostoevsky. It offers a profound psychological portrait of the protagonist, combined with a masterful depiction of gambling and everything surrounding it, as well as a stark and ironic portrayal of certain strata of Russian society dominated by ambition and vain illusions. Through this story, which undoubtedly bears autobiographical overtones, the great Russian writer offers us the opportunity for a most interesting discussion.
