We will be discussing Historia de una maestra (Alfaguara, 2021, 240 pages) by Josefina Aldecoa. A fascinating book about the fulfilled and unfulfilled dreams of a young, idealistic teacher in Spain during the 1920s and 1930s, the importance of teaching, and the many teachers who fought to educate a nation in difficult times. A book to reflect on and discuss.
