The aim of this engaging workshop, led by Francisco Hidalgo Fernández, is to explore how wine transformed the economy, culture, and society. He will trace the expansion of winegrowing during the early modern period, Spain’s role in global trade routes, and Málaga’s golden age between the sixteenth and nineteenth centuries, when its wine reached European courts and financed the province’s prosperity. The workshop will also highlight the contributions of the men and women involved in the different stages of the industry. A guided winery visit and tasting will provide the perfect finale, bringing together tradition, heritage, and shared enjoyment.
