Cycle: Ibero-American Cinema

Strawberry and Chocolate is a well-rounded film—it begins and ends with the slow savouring of strawberry ice cream—full of nuances, contrasts, ideas, politics, freedom, and ideological dogmatism. It is the story of a country, Cuba, and a city, Havana, as full of beauty as it is of ruins; it is the portrait of a lively, miraculous and tormented people; and it is, above all, a story of love and rejection—one of the protagonists is homosexual, the other is not—that evolves into a sincere friendship. We look forward to seeing you there.
