LITERARY GATHERING

We will discuss Las guerras de nuestros antepasados (Austral, 2018, 288 pages), by the great Miguel Delibes. A moving novel of impeccable prose and innovative language, which leads us to reflect on and debate situations that seem to belong to the past but are still very much present. In the author’s own words, ‘The dialogue between the inmate Pacífico Pérez and Dr. Burgueño, the doctor at the prison sanatorium where he is interned, raises essential problems about human freedom and responsibility that we would do well to meditate on’. It will be a most interesting meeting.
